I need to prove my video is real

Every new photo or video you shoot can carry its own proof. Capture Cam adds a Content Credential and an onchain fingerprint the moment you capture, so any edit shows and the time is on record. Keep a permanent copy and have a witness sign the fingerprint. It proves the file is unchanged, not that the scene was not staged.

Chapter 1

Who knew?

the bits nobody tells you
Oh! #1
Editing a single pixel changes a file's fingerprint completely, so tampering shows.
The fingerprint is a cryptographic hash of the exact file.
Oh! #2
The proof is strongest at the moment of capture, not later.
A file registered after the fact only proves it existed from that day on.
Oh! #3
Content Credentials are an open standard backed by camera makers and media firms, not just crypto.
C2PA is a cross-industry provenance standard that Capture Cam embeds.
People assume

Proving footage is authentic needs a forensic expert.

Actually

Capture Cam is free to start, a small file stores permanently for free through ArDrive Turbo, and a witness attestation costs a fraction of a cent on Base.

Three ways through

Pick your route

free, bold, or build the missing piece
  1. Start free tonight

Stamp new footage as you shoot

Capture Cam and ProofMode both seal a photo the moment you take it, so the proof starts with the pixels.

    1. Stamp a photo with proof of when it was taken
    2. Or install ProofMode, Guardian Project's free open-source camera, and share its proof bundle with the clip.

    Cost Free apps.

  2. The bold play

Seal it the way war-crimes archives do

Starling Lab's method is capture, store, verify: a sealed original, a permanent copy and a witness on record.

    1. Stamp a photo with proof of when it was taken
    2. Publish a page that stays online without a host
    3. Give or get a work reference that lives onchain

Cost Free storage for small files, a fraction of a cent per attestation.

  3. Build it

Build the verify page nobody has made simple

    Built by the House

Nobody has built a one-click page where anyone drops a file and sees every Content Credential and onchain seal on it. The House will build it with you.

    1. Own a working onchain app with your name on it
    2. Read C2PA manifests with the open-source c2pa library, then look up the hash on Numbers and EAS.

    Cost Build time.

What I already have

Past the basics

What’s possible

live today, or yours to build
  • Live today

Stamp photos and videos at capture with a Content Credential and onchain fingerprint.

How Install Capture Cam. Shoot. Share the verify link.

  • Live today

Shoot with an open-source camera that writes C2PA proof.

How Install ProofMode. Shoot. Export the proof bundle with the file.

  • Possible to build

A verify page where anyone drops a file and sees every credential and seal.

How Parse C2PA. Hash the file. Check Numbers and EAS. Show the match.

  • Possible to build

A neighbourhood witness circle that co-signs footage of local events.

How Recruit witnesses. Attest fingerprints. Publish a list.

Project + project

Combos nobody marketed

A + B = something new
  • Capture CamArweave

A stamped original plus a permanent copy that survives takedowns.

Why it works The fingerprint proves the file; the permanent copy proves what it was.

  • ProofModeEAS witness

A free open-source proof plus a second person who attests they saw it.

Why it works ProofMode adds C2PA Content Credentials; attestations show signer and date.

  • Numbers ProtocolFilecoin

The same pairing Starling Lab used for Reuters election photos and Ukraine evidence.

Why it works Register the capture on Numbers, keep the original on Filecoin.

Chapter 3

Try it live

Do not take our word for it. Capture Cam runs right here, so you can poke at the real thing before you commit to anything.

Chapter 4

Where it matters most

  • citizen journalists

A capture record helps footage survive claims that it is AI-made.

  • tenants and small businesses

Dated move-in or damage photos help in disputes.

  • people documenting abuse

A tamper-evident record supports later reporting, with safety care.

Chapter 5 · Not built yet?

Build it

A verify page where anyone drops in a file and sees whether it matches a registered capture.

Who could build it Fact-checkers and small newsrooms.

Questions

Can a blockchain prove an old photo was never edited?

No. It can only prove a file has not changed since it was registered, so stamp files at capture.

Does a Content Credential prove the scene really happened?

No. It proves the file and when it was made, not that the scene was not staged.

Is it safe to register sensitive footage publicly?

Be careful. Faces and locations can put people at risk, so think about safety and store only fingerprints if needed.

Will courts or platforms accept a capture credential?

Acceptance varies. It is useful evidence, but never assume it settles a dispute on its own.

The spark

What would you film differently if every clip carried its own receipt?

Some links are referral links; they never change what we recommend.
