A problem people bring · solved

Fund our group with no bank account

Your group can run its own treasury today: a Safe shared by three organisers, where any spend needs two approvals, raising USDC that every donor can track. Give the group one ENS name, apply to a Gitcoin or Giveth matching round so small gifts unlock more, and pay builders by milestone. Skip these: one person's personal wallet as the treasury.

Chapter 1

Who knew?

the bits nobody tells you
Oh! #1
Every donation and payment is public, so donors can check the money themselves without an audit.
Onchain wallets have public histories.
Oh! #2
You can give each member a subname under one ENS name, so the whole group shares an identity.
ENS name owners can create subnames, and some tools issue them without gas.
Oh! #3
Small public-good projects can get matching funds from Gitcoin Grants rounds, where many small donations attract a bigger match.
Gitcoin uses quadratic funding, which weights the number of donors more than size.
Oh! #4
A Safe has no monthly fee, unlike a business bank account.
Safe is free to use; you only pay network gas.
People assume

You need a registered charity and a bank.

Actually

A Safe on an L2 costs cents of gas to create. ENS names of five or more characters cost about 5 dollars a year plus gas, though a DAO proposal may raise this to 8 dollars, and subnames cost only gas or nothing with gasless subname tools.

    Open the shared wallet

A treasury no single person can empty is what donors trust. Safe on EVM chains, Squads on Solana.

    1. Share a family wallet that needs two of three to move money
    2. Put a Solana treasury behind several keys
    3. Own a name that works as your wallet address

Cost Cents of gas on an L2 or Solana; names from about 5 dollars a year.

  2. The bold play

    Stack a matching round

    Built by the House

Gather many small donors, then point them at a Gitcoin or Giveth round where matching can multiply them.

    1. Find the next Gitcoin or Giveth round that fits your cause.
    2. Fund a build with escrow that pays only as work ships

Cost Free to apply. Matching is never guaranteed.

  3. Build it

    Build the open donation page

    Built by the House

Live balance, plain spend log and a receipt per payout. Few small groups have one. The House will build it with you.

    1. Own a working onchain app with your name on it
    2. Read the Safe's public history and show it as a plain spend log.

Cost Build time; Safe data is public.

Questions

Is it legal to raise money in a Safe?

It depends on local fundraising and charity rules, so check them before you collect donations into a Safe.

Who controls the money in a community Safe?

The Safe owners control it, and no payment moves until the threshold you set, such as 2 of 3, approves it.

What if an organiser leaves the Safe?

The remaining Safe owners can vote to remove that person and add a replacement, as long as the threshold is met.

Can donors pay by card into a Safe?

Only through a ramp that converts card payments into stablecoins sent to the Safe address.

The spark

If every donor could see every coin you spent, how much more would they give?

Some links are referral links; they never change what we recommend.
