A problem people bring · solved
Get paid each time your art resells
Mint on a contract you own and set a resale royalty that marketplaces can read and pay automatically. List where royalties are honoured, thank the collectors who pay them, and your own contract doubles as public proof you made the work. Since 2023 many big marketplaces made royalties optional, so some resales pay and some will not.

Chapter 1
Who knew?
OpenSea made creator fees optional for new collections in August 2023 and stopped enforcing them on older ones from early 2024.
Your own contract is also proof you made the work; a fake on a different contract is easy to spot.
Some marketplaces and artist-run platforms still honour royalties by default.
Selling digital art needs a gallery or a costly platform.
Deploying your own contract and minting costs gas only, cents on Base. Marketplaces may take a fee on sales. Royalties depend on where resales happen.

Questions
Are NFT royalties guaranteed on every resale of my art?
No. Many marketplaces made royalties optional, so whether you are paid depends on where the resale happens.
Do I need a lot of money to mint my own art onchain?
No. On low-fee networks like Base, deploying a contract and minting costs cents in gas.
Does minting my art protect my copyright legally?
Not by itself. It is a public record of authorship, but copyright is set by law, so check with a local adviser.
Can buyers see that the art came from my own contract?
Yes. Anyone can check the contract and creator wallet on a block explorer or the marketplace page.
Which of your pieces would a collector be proud to say they paid you for twice?
Some links are referral links; they never change what we recommend.
